At Happy Home Ithaca,
design and organization are inseparable.

Your home should support how you actually live—functional enough for daily ease, beautiful enough to nourish your soul.

Elevated Design & Organization brings both together, creating spaces that are organized, cohesive, and genuinely supportive of your well-being.

Whether you’re a professional setting up your first space, a parent creating calm for your family, or anyone ready for your home to feel good—we’ll design systems and aesthetics that work for your real life.

Design and Organization: Better Together

Most people think of design and organization as separate services—hire an organizer to deal with clutter, hire a designer to make it pretty. But that’s exactly why so many “organized” spaces feel sterile, and why so many “beautiful” rooms don’t actually work for daily life.

When we work together, I’m thinking about:

  • How can this closet be functional AND beautiful?
  • What furniture layout supports your morning routine while also feeling spacious?
  • Where do your daily touchpoints naturally want to live—keys, bags, coffee supplies, creative materials?

My mind works spatially—reorganizing rooms to suit how you actually move through your day, optimizing storage so it’s both accessible and aesthetically pleasing, ensuring the flow between spaces feels good.

How it works

Step 1: Free Consultation (15 minutes)

We’ll discuss your space, your vision, your challenges, and whether we’re a good fit. No pressure—just an honest conversation about how we might work together.

Step 2: Initial Assessment

We’ll do a walkthrough (in-person or virtual) to understand your space, how you use it, and what’s working or not working. This helps us create a customized plan.

Step 3: Design & Planning

Based on your needs and budget, we’ll create a plan that might include:

  • Space planning and furniture layouts
  • Color palettes and material selections
  • Organizational systems and storage solutions
  • Timeline and phasing (if needed)
  • Sourcing plan for furniture, décor, and organizational products

Step 4: Implementation

This is where the magic happens. Depending on your project:

  • Hands-on organizing and decluttering
  • Furniture rearranging and space optimization
  • Installation and styling
  • Sourcing and coordinating deliveries
  • Design consultations (virtual or in-person)

We work at your pace, checking in regularly and adjusting as needed.

Step 5: Completion & Maintenance

We ensure you understand how to maintain your new systems and space. You’ll receive guidance for keeping things organized and beautiful long-term.

Location: Austin, Texas

Length of project: 3 days

Scope: Space Planning, Organization, Emotional Support & Energetic Transition

Challenge:
My client, newly separated, was transitioning from a large 5-bedroom suburban home to a 2-bedroom apartment in the city. The move marked a major life shift. The apartment was a blank slate—completely unfurnished—and initially intended to be shared with a roommate. When that fell through, she was left not only with a layout that no longer served her plans, but also with the emotional weight of starting over alone.

She felt overwhelmed, unsure how to set up the space in a way that would feel like home. She needed more than design—she needed emotional support, clear structure, and a vision that honored her independence and helped her reclaim her sense of belonging.

Design & Spatial Transformation:

  • Bedroom Layout Realignment: Originally planning to take the larger room with balcony access, we discovered it had no supportive placement for the bed. Instead, we designated the slightly smaller bedroom—with a better wall orientation and proximity to the bathroom—as her primary bedroom, ensuring both physical and energetic support.
  • Multi-Functional Guest Room & Closet: The larger room became a spacious combination office, guest room, and wardrobe extension. We optimized it to hold her collection of shoes, dancewear, and outdoor gear—creating zones for daily use and lifestyle versatility.
  • Office Flow: Her desk was positioned for a clear view out the window, giving her a sense of command and creativity. The layout now supports both productivity and inspiration.
  • Functional Enhancements:
    • Added stylish yet breathable coverage to an awkward utility door with a boho moon-phase beaded curtain.
    • Reorganized kitchen shelving for ease and flow.
    • Ordered and assembled shoe racks and helped her source a dining table and chairs.
    • Chose curtains, hung artwork, and made strategic layout suggestions for entry/exit flow.
    • Upgraded lighting with the help of a maintenance professional I helped coordinate.
    • Identified the best location for the cat’s litter box—out of sight in a closet with easy access.

Emotional Support & Transition Care:
Beyond design, this project involved deep emotional holding. I accompanied her back to the shared home to pack up her final belongings—an experience she shared would have been too painful to face alone. I helped her shop for home basics, guiding selections that honored both practicality and emotional comfort.

Results:
Her new space is now a true sanctuary—a reflection of her next chapter. She feels grounded, safe, and genuinely at home.
She told me, “I didn’t think I could have done this alone. You helped me move through the most painful part, and I love my new home, I can truly relax and enjoy myself.”

In my clients words...

“Nalasa’s approach to her work is pure heart and art.

There is so much compassion she holds for her clients that weaves its way right into the curation of their space. When I had the opportunity to work with Nalasa she listened and empathized deeply with my situation for moving to a new home. Going through a separation, I was afraid nothing would feel like home.

With Nalasa’s help I discovered quite the contrary, this is the first time in my adult life where my space actually reflects me – who I am, how I want to be held, supported, and empowered by my surroundings.

My apartment had a couch and a bed when she arrived. With thoughtful questions and attuned listening she helped guide me to envision what I wanted my space to be, feel like, and how I would practically use it. She helped guide me from the big picture layout and general vibe of my space down to sweet details that bring it all together. I love my new home, a place where I can truly relax and enjoy myself. I even find it’s easier to keep my apartment tidy when so much love and intention went into its design.

I have immense gratitude for the impact she had on my space and my life during such a turbulent transition.

Thank you, Nalasa, you beautiful spirit.”

Location: Newton, Massachusetts

Length of project: 1 week

My role: Designer + Energy worker

Challenge:
My client had been in her leadership role for over a year but actively avoided working in her office. Instead, she preferred standing at a desk in the reception area, citing a desire to be near people. Upon entering the office, dark, imposing bookshelves overwhelmed the space, and her desk faced a wall with a window behind her—offering little inspiration or support. The layout felt stagnant and uninviting, and it didn’t reflect her vibrant personality or leadership role.

Vision:
This client thrives in community, loves art, and brings bright, positive energy to everything she does. The goal was to transform her office into a space where she could feel confident and grounded in her role—while also making it a welcoming environment for her team and peers.

Design & Spatial Transformation:

  • Desk Repositioning: We moved her desk to sit beside the windows, facing the door in the Feng Shui “command position.” This created a sense of empowerment, light, and energetic flow.
  • Personal Touches: The formerly dominant bookshelves were relocated in front of her desk, reframed as display shelves. We styled them with meaningful personal items—running medals, photos, and mementos—to foster joy and rootedness.
  • Inviting Seating Area: Two armchairs and a small table were added opposite the desk, creating a space for relaxed meetings, collaboration, or quiet contemplation.
  • Lighting & Atmosphere: Soft, layered lighting and a strategically placed bookshelf were added opposite the door to create warmth and visual balance. Plants were introduced throughout the office—on shelves, by the windows, and near seating areas—to enhance air quality, vitality, and a sense of wellbeing.
  • Art Curation: We selected from her existing art collection to create a vibrant gallery wall, reflecting her personality and bringing beauty and movement into the space.

Energetic Realignment:
Beneath the surface, the space had hidden stressors. Her desk had previously backed up to a closet full of electrical equipment, contributing to EMF interference and cognitive fatigue. I performed energetic remediation—clearing the interference, applying subtle cures, and setting the energetic field to support harmony, clarity, and ease.

Results:
The shift was profound. She now works exclusively in her office and describes it as her sanctuary. Staying late no longer feels like a burden—it’s a pleasure. Colleagues and friends consistently comment on how welcoming and beautiful the space feels, noting they’ve “never been in an office like this before.”

Before photo

“I now enjoy spending time in my office and have received literally dozens of compliments from congregants and staff.

When I had to stay at work until 11pm working on the budget one night, being in a beautiful, calming environment made it much less painful and even kind of nice.”
~ Office Client

Location: Texas Hill Country

Length of project: 1.5 years

My role: Designer + Confidant

The owners were four years into building their dream home in the Texas Hill Country. While the main construction was complete, the wife found herself overwhelmed by the sheer number of decisions still needed to bring her vision to life.

She described her style as not fitting neatly into any design box. She was drawn to ultra-modern elements, clean lines, and ocean-inspired vibes—with a cool color palette. No browns, yellows, or greens.

She was confident in what she liked and didn’t like, but unsure how to bring it all together in a cohesive way.

When she found me, she had just hired an online interior design firm. While they provided a design for a couple of rooms, the level of personalization and number of decisions still required went far beyond what that service could support. They didn’t quite capture her aesthetic, and their one-size-fits-all approach left her needing more.

She began by booking a 1-hour Soulful Home Alignment Session. In her own words:

“I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a Soulful Home Alignment Experience with Nalasa, and I cannot recommend it enough!

From start to finish, the session was both calming and invigorating, leaving me feeling renewed and refreshed in both my personal mindset as well as the plan for the interior of my new home.

Nalasa’s attention to detail is unparalleled, and I was amazed at how she immediately tuned into our unique circumstances as it relates to the land and property of our building site. She provided several recommendations right away as to how we can align and be congruent moving forward.

I have never really designed a home with my personal aesthetic because we knew we weren’t staying put, so I have always focused on what would resell. But instead of enjoying the process of FINALLY getting to do whatever I want, it was overshadowed by the stress of making a zillion decisions and making sure everything is right! We are putting a lot of money into this home, so I want to make sure it has the feel and design that is scattered into a bunch of different pieces in my brain!

Throughout the session, Nalasa’s energy was positive and infectious, making the process both enjoyable and transformative. She calmed me down 😊 and gave me some great next steps to chunk things up and prioritize, which will help me during the design (and budgeting!) process so that I don’t feel so out of control.

She was able to pull a “vision” out of me, which I hadn’t really been able to describe. Nalasa asked me questions that helped me identify what it is that I love – and more accurately, the emotions that they make me feel, such that I can bring that into the interior design of my home. She gave me clarity, structure, and confidence in the decisions I make to turn my vision into reality.

Thank you so much, Nalasa – I have a renewed, expansive perspective… and I now have a structure to bring my vision and how I want my environment to feel into my home so that I can live my dream every day!

I highly recommend working with Nalasa. Her work is truly transformative, and I cannot wait to see the final result.

Thank you, Nalasa, for helping me create a space that truly nourishes my soul!

After she got the design plans back from the online company and realized the limited scope of their work. She hired me.

While I helped throughout the design process, the biggest thing I gave was that I made the whole process fun and enjoyable. In many renovation and building projects there are delays, augments, frustrations that arise with finding unknown elements. So much of my work is emotional, energetic, and practical support.
